Hot-dip galvanizing is a process in which zinc is heated to a molten state, the product to be plated is immersed in the bath and then removed and cooled. Hot-dip plating forms a thick coating with excellent durability.
Unlike painting or electro-galvanizing, the plating film is strongly metallurgically bonded to the steel through an alloy layer formed between zinc and iron, so the plating does not peel off over long periods.
Zinc plating also features protective film and sacrificial corrosion properties, providing very high rust resistance for steel products.
Electro-Galvanizing
Electro-Galvanizing
Electro-galvanizing is a method in which the product to be plated is immersed in a plating solution containing zinc and electroplated through electrolysis.
Therefore, thin plating is possible with no deformation and an excellent appearance.
A thin plating layer of 2–25μm can be obtained on steel materials, with uniform plating thickness and excellent workability.
PosMAC
PosMAC
PosMAC is a highly corrosion-resistant alloy-plated steel sheet developed with POSCO's proprietary technology, using zinc, magnesium, and a small amount of aluminum.
It dramatically improves corrosion resistance. The material itself is 5–10 times more resistant to corrosion than hot-dip galvanized products, and its cut-edge corrosion resistance is particularly excellent, earning it the name "rust-free steel."
While zinc-plated steel requires re-plating at cut edges, PosMAC forms a corrosion product film at cut sections, eliminating the need for re-plating.
Space Frame
Space Frame
A space frame is a truss-type structure connected around a central ball joint as the intermediate connector, also called a bolt-truss structure.
It has been adopted as roof structures in venues where intermediate columns are impractical, such as gymnasiums and auditoriums.
Recently, it has also been used for solar structures when wider spacing between columns is required.
Space frames satisfy not only functional requirements but also aesthetic elements.
